Good-bye True Blood Season 5 & The Walking Dead Season 3...

Its time to say Good-bye to True Blood again... I actually don't know what I will do with my life now because it literally consisted of Stay up till 10 to watch True Blood, then the next day watch it again with my mum (which is always awkward, some scenes shouldn't be witnessed with your mum around). Now its finishing and never coming back... until the summer of next year. Bill's gone Psycho, Eric's gone good cop, Sookie still cries like a bitch, Lafayette is just amazing as always and Alcide shouldn't even own a shirt.

Not only is True Blood finishing but on Friday I will also be saying Good-bye to The Walking Dead.

Yes you heard me The Walking Dead is also taking a break and as the series comes to an end I pray that Michonne will return for season 4, I mean come on this chick carries a lead with two walkers like their dogs, like their pets... you can't get anymore awesome then that and Carl has turned into a right Bad ass.

Oh how can I forget how Daryl has gone from hot to HOT!. Well I guess Season 2 of Grimm, American Horror Story: Asylum and Vampire Diaries season 4 will have to quench my thirst for destruction and chaos..

I must say Bloody Face is looking rather hot..
That was a joke.. Chow!

Books; The Forest of Hands & Teeth

So I was having a dream last night that I was living in a secluded town surrounded by fences & gates, Zombies were coming in from every corner and all I could think about was the fact I was down to my last piece of Toilet roll and last nights Chinese wasn't about to hold back... and then I was awake. Maybe I had that dream because I've been watching The Walking Dead but I'm sure we all know my crazy dream was devised from The Forest Of Hands & Teeth.

The story follows Mary; an inquisitive young adult who has more faith in the stories her mother told her as a child than the God the Sisterhood use against those who appose their authority but nothing is easy in Mary's life not when the Unconsecrated (Zombies to you & I) are on the other side of the fence, not when a breach causes chaos and destruction, not when her own desires tangle with the safety of everyone she loves. It's not long before Mary finds herself, her brother Jed, Brothers Harry & Travis, Cass, Little Jacob and Argos the dog trying to survive the breach that had caused their world to collapse around them.

Honestly I really like this book a lot but I wouldn't say this book is a favourite of mine because of the way Carrie Ryan writes, don't get me wrong the book is good but Carrie's writing style is so different to Laini Taylor and Becca Fitzpatrick that it will take a lot of getting used to. Also for the sheer fact that I tend to read books that evolve around the supernatural mainly Shape shifters, Fairies, Vampires, Fallen Angels and other fucked up things.

This was the first time I've read a Zombie based novel and I'm happy that I have because it was worth it in a way, It may not be a favourite of mine but it is always good to try something new and on the 807 bus this morning I had a few tears stream down my cheeks (because shit just got so real near the end of the book, it made me cry)

Like Enclave, The Forest Of Hands & Teeth helps create the idea that the authority may in fact be corrupt and it takes one person to break the system and figure out that there is more to what they've been brought up to see.

My Liberian has told me that this might become a film and being a fan of Zombie films I'll definitely go and see it... hopefully the film gives the book a little more justice.

I'm going to try get my hands on The Dead - Tossed Waves but right now I have The Night Circus which is also out of my comfort zone but what can I say My Liberian loves it and has given it good reviews... I think my day is sorted. Chow!

Well I think I've found my new best friend, sorry Ki I still love you but Ignasi Monreal is just... just amazing. Working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer; He studied Comic & Illustration, Communication, Total Design and graduated from Fashion Creative Direction (which I've never heard of in my life) Ignasi has a CV that rivals everyone in my entire family..

Dior for VSPAIN

Atlantis; Alexander McQueen

I love the way Ignasi brings elements of natural forms into a few of his pieces; birds, butterflies and even snakes were what made the Haute Couture Collections for V Magazine Spain extremely beautiful.
RJ King
Ignasi is one to watch, only born in 1990 yet his work shows a lifetime of experience, he is definitely an inspiration of mine, Chow!.

Inspirations & Influences; Stella Im Hultberg

Stella Im Hultberg is a painter born in South Korea and is currently living in Brooklyn. Stella's work depicts feminine beauty with the flow of her soft hues, beautiful colour contrasts and flowing lines.

Foregone Broken

Bold as Love
Like I said before Stella's work shows feminine beauty and how serene, fragile and vulnerable women, are this is shown through the type of media she uses in her pieces; ink, oils, water colours, wood and canvas however not everything she makes is flat as a pancake. Stella has created wood panels with ceramic sculptures attached and even figures...

Inspirations & Influences; Esra Roise

With a name as beautiful as this it's not a surprise, Esra Roise is able to make me and many others stare at her work in awe. Esra is a freelance illustrator whose work is fashion influenced and inspired by Famous icons, celebrities, people and my favourite Awkward moments.

Dry and Dusty

Esra is amazing, I mean come on awkward moments, who would think awkward moments would look so beautiful.. well my media lesson is ending now so Chow!

Inspirations & influences; Marco Migani

After seeing Erika Lawlor Schmidt work, I began looking for collage artists and I came across Marco Migani. Sadly I was unable to find much Information on Marco himself but I really like his pieces and decided to go ahead and upload a few of my favourites.

like I said earlier, I wasn't able to find much info so I'm gonna have to go in blindly and guess that there has been a few elements of photo manipulation in his work, in fact some of his pieces are so neat photo manipulation must be something he used. His work uses lots of magazine clippings, newspapers, images and like all the other artists on this blog.. natural forms (ohkay maybe i have an obsession with natural forms)

In the future no matter how much i like an artist i think its best i find a background on there work...

...but his work is so cooooool just look at it

Marco if you see this please, please, pleeeeeease tell us about yourself, what inspired your work, maybe what type of media you use.. Chow!

Inspirations & Influences; Erika Lawlor Schmidt

Well let me just say one thing, I literally just found Erika's work & I'm kinda impressed.

Erika Lawlor Schmidt is a visual and performing artist; whose work has elements of Indian Mysticism and Eastern Philosophy. Her collages and prints are very surrealistic even though it has cultural, religious, pop iconography references and pieces from maps, books and magazines. Her work is extremely simple.

The Reincarnation of Lincoln

Drawn to the center of things

Listen Like Spring

I personally wouldn't say Erika is a huge inspiration of mine however her style is so neat, polished and simple that I'm instantly drawn to her pieces plus I think Its time I slow down on the natural forms pieces (even though their are elements of natural forms in her work) too much natural forms is going to drive me crazy and with that Chow!

Check out some of Erika's work http://erikalawlorschmidt.com/index.php

Music; Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box

I don't know if any of you know this but I'm a huge Nirvana fan, ohkay maybe I wasn't born in 1993 (only 2 years behind) but I am a 90's baby & this has to be one of my favourite Nirvana songs.

The video confuses the hell out of me but I love this song and will always. (I've already played it 9 times today... talk about over kill)

Well this is the song of the day, I hope you enjoy it.. Chow!

Inspirations & Influences; Caitlin Hackett

Caitlin Hackett is an artist who specializes in Illustration, Painting, Drawing & Digital retouching. As a child she grew up around mountains and redwood trees which is probably one of the main reasons why her work is inspired by nature, mythology and animals. Like Marco Mazzoni, Caitlin's work merges many types of natural forms like birds, fishes, mammals, females & even dragons.

Vulpes Masquerade

Insatiable

A Flightless Bird
There is something just so alluring about Caitlin's work and I can honestly say I can look at her work for hours (ohkay maybe a few minutes) because every time you analyze her work there is always something to discover and that really is the beauty of her work.
Caitlin uses a range of media from ballpoint pen, acrylic, water colour, coloured pencil & digitally painted(on selected pieces). I really like Caitlin's work & I hope that one day I could be as good as this *fingers crossed* Chow!

Inspirations & Influences; Marco Mazzoni

Marco Mazzoni is an Artist who's work just fascinates me... there is no words that can describe how beautifully grotesque his pieces are. Marco's pieces are influenced by Italian Folklore and from my perspective they are highly influenced by Natural Forms. Each piece has similar themes from birds, animals, feathers, women, butterflies and flowers.

Unlike many other Artists, when Marco is drawing women he purposely leaves out the eyes for he believes they are a distraction.

Marco also uses pencil crayon and rejects all persuasion to use oil paints. (Good on you mate) His work reminds me of another artist Caitlin Hackett who is amaaaaaaaazing and you will be seeing some of her work soon but for now Chow!

Check out some of Marco's work http://www.coatesandscarry.com/originals/marco-mazzoni

Inspirations & Influences; Audrey Kawasaki

Whenever i look at Audrey Kawasaki's work, I immediately think of the Yin Yang and how there is always two sides to something; The good & the bad, Male & Female, Positive & Negative. Innocent and Erotic

Using wood panels, Audrey is able to create sharp and smooth graphic pieces with oil, graphite and acrylic...

I'm a huge fan of Audrey's work so expect more images in the future. Chow!
